We keep that simple, too. When we successfully collect a customer’s deposit, the $12 Simply Secure fee is handled as part of that same transaction. We do not collect or hold your portion of the deposit and then send it to you later. You enter and manage your banking information directly through Stripe. That’s completely up to you.You may require a percentage, a specific dollar amount, or even the full cost of the appointment, service, or order. Many businesses choose an amount significant enough to meaningfully protect the time, work, or product they’ve committed to the customer (for example, 40–50% of the total cost). You decide the amount. We collect what you instruct us to collect.
No. That’s your decision. You decide whether your deposit is refundable or nonrefundable, along with the cancellation, rescheduling, no-show, or other policies that apply to your business. Many businesses choose a meaningful, nonrefundable deposit because it can encourage customers to follow through while protecting a portion of the business’s income if they don’t.You set the policy. We help you communicate it.
Suppose you have a $300 appointment, service, or order and require a 40% nonrefundable deposit.$300 total → $120 deposit → $180 remainingIf the customer follows through, the $120 deposit is applied toward the total. If the customer doesn’t follow through and your policy provides that the deposit is forfeited, your business has still received $120 toward the time, work, or resources you committed. Without a deposit, you could be left with $0 from that commitment. And if a customer isn’t willing to make the required deposit, you find out before committing additional time, work, or resources.A meaningful deposit can’t guarantee that every customer will follow through, but it can encourage greater commitment and lessen the financial impact when they don’t.
You do.You determine your payment deadline and your deposit, cancellation, rescheduling, no-show, refund, and other applicable policies. We help you communicate them.
You are free to authorize a refund when you believe it’s appropriate.Because Simply Secure’s service has already been completed when the deposit was successfully collected, the Simply Secure service fee is nonrefundable.
